  1. Greetings Larry - can't wait to see your T15 finished - cool little machines! They were painted white and also painted camo. I believe @James Di Giovanni has the factory prints for the camo on the later machines - maybe he has them for the T15's too. If not, I have a decent collection of pictures that I could scan and supply - offhand I don't remember if there is more than one pattern but James should chime in here.
  2. Greetings @F.Janssen....I am thinking that #10, 11 and 12 should all be M29s....given the hull tags...but.....
  3. Thank you @5280Beltfed. I am thinking someone modified a couple of pieces of an original set. I will get good pictures and post them.
  4. I just bought this very early M29. Runs and drives - needs lots of love, but will fix after my T24 is finished. ORD No. 1005 Hull No. 1313
  5. I bought out a guy who had been collecting Weasels and stuff for a while. I got a lot of rare parts including this very nice Pioneer compass and mount. It is missing the decal so I made one up. I may play with the fonts a little more because they are very close but not quite right - still it looks pretty good. Just need to turn the letters white and print it on a transfer decal.
  6. Question: what are the differences between the Norwegian bows and the original Studebaker bows? I just got a set, but I am not sure exactly what I have - they are missing the "stays" on the second bow from the front...where the windshield section ties into what I would call the extensions. I'll get pictures tomorrow. Thanks! PBT
  7. Spent a few more hours working on the bow. Hammer, slapper, dolly, shrinking disc and torch - rinse and repeat a few hundred times. It didn't look too bad originally (see first picture) - but it does look better flat. The first pictures are the first session - I put a little primer on it at the end of my second session to help me see if there was anything left. Total time - about 4 hours. I believe I am slow at this work, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the process go faster without screwing something up - probably just more experience. I still need to address some damage and a prior repair on the top edge of the hull. Once I get the hull off the rotisserie, I have a bit to do in the front center section and the driver side, but I am getting there, one little dent at a time.
  8. Thanks @Byron! I am about to get this hull off the rotisserie again so I can finish all of these little details like insulation tabs and wiring tabs and ......I'll probably be pinging you over the weekend. Thanks again! Patrick
  9. Fastenal is a good shipping option if you need to work something out for a new final drive housing. I shipped a set of tracks from Colorado to NJ for around $200....and motors cross country for like $150. Thanks for the cross reference! Patrick
  10. I know what you mean....I generally don't like removing the history, but I have seen so few correct T24's here in the states...maybe none?...that I thought it was worth it to try and get one back close to factory. I am making a list of the tabs....I appreciate the offer and will let you know. Regards, Patrick
  11. Gents - spent a little more time cleaning up the lower hull...just little details and then put the hull back on the rotisserie. I need to make some rolling outriggers for this hull so I can put it on a trailer easily and move it over to a friend's shop to have him primer it. Topside, I still have a bunch of details, like removing the Norwegian stretcher brackets (accomplished), fixing a few more dents front and back and making new pioneer tool brackets and installing them. My goal is to have everything done by the end of the month and be working on the running gear. I shot a little primer on last's weeks side repairs to get a better side view. I am happy with the repairs and the new floor seam...I think it will be hard to see any of these repairs when the hull is back together.
  12. Thanks @OZM29C. I will let you know....need to get the hull back on the rotisserie today and flip it back over. We are having an ice storm right now...so hard to move around. Weather is going to get nicely above freezing today so hopefully a little better later in the day.
  13. I am going to clean up a few more welds on the lower hull and flip it so I can finish the inside. I have the gas tank hat channels to install as well as tabs to hold the insulation panels. I also need to test fit the controls again and install the support bracket for the cross shaft. So a couple of solid days of details and a little bit of leading to remove the final couple of dents. I should be on to the motor by March.....
  14. You got us 🤣 Not sure why that "spiff" format doesn't play but she doesn't. I will try and convert it later and re upload! As for that rear pan - WOW! I have hours ahead on mine. Very nice!!
  15. Thanks John. I know where some of those tabs are...will check for the rest of them! I also need to fabricate a bunch of the steel tabs that hold the insulation panels in place....plenty left yet to do. You burning petrol down there?🤣 Regards, Patrick
  16. One of the challenges of making the new side was figuring out the flat pattern, sourcing a piece of 18 gauge that was large enough and then finding someone with a big enough brake to bend it. I ended up with a 10 foot sheet - which would be long enough if I could have purchased a parallelogram instead of a rectangle - but is just a little short due to the taper of the Weasel hull. After lots of head scratching, I ended up bending it in such a way that I was short - a small and long triangle - by about 1/2 inch in the inner rear corner of the hull and about a similar amount in the front bow section. I added metal to the front before we installed the side, but the rear had a corner doubler and better (flat) access, so I waited to finish this part. This writeup took longer than the repair! I also redid the front welds - my Rube Goldberg rotisserie mount was in the way the first time I did it, or my welding skills failed me (maybe a bit of both)...in any event, this came out much better.
  17. Wonderful! I continue to be impressed with both the quality and speed of your work. As my friends down south say, you are "gettiner" done! Superb! Are you running LAR tracks or do you have originals...belts, new bands?
  18. Awesome...I will let you know if my buddy ends up with the truck.
  19. Sorry to go off topic, but this G506 was originally a fire truck. The guy who bought it and did 90% of the restoration died....very, very nice truck. Plenty left to do, but a pretty quick restoration...
  20. You are very welcome Dave @D.R.H. I am happy to be part of this community. I went with a friend to see a G506 project on Friday....I think he is going to buy it. I have the bug, but like you need to do one project at a time or never get anything finished! Back to the T24!!! Patrick
