  1. What size stock is the guard made of? "band iron" for the frame and round stock for the bars? what are the dimensions? Thanks
  2. I have a question on fuel pumps, I have one where it had the electric pump in the tank, But well rotted, I got a manual fuel pump on my bench, My question is ...Did Studebaker keep the manual fuel pump lobe on all engines including the electric pump Weasels? or in my case a manual pump will not work? How do I check this? Thanks
  3. Since this weeks video was on fuel pumps.....I called Then and Now in Mass. and these are available!
  4. Just finished punching out 492 rivets, the ones on the outer bands. Grinding the heads has an added benefit over machining them off, the grinder can get them "red hot" it beaks the rust bond! So I cut them apart and pounded out 492 rivets in about 4 hrs. The rivets holding the center will be more difficult, I can't get the grinding wheel in there, those might have to be drilled. Is there and specific type of conveyor belting requires for track rebuilding?
  5. I found that a 4.5" cutting wheel lasts about 40 seconds/5 grousers before its down to nothing...
  6. how do I cut the main bands, without causing a rubber fire?
  7. Good point, I guess I could get an angle grinder, those rivets really don't want to move!
  8. Grousers and Gas Tanks..... Today I decided to save the original gas tank, so in between 3 brush fires and a man pinned under a tree, I was able to cut out the rusty, pinned holed panels of the tank, there was over an inch of flakey rust debris on the bottom, and the remnants of an electric fuel pump. Tried punching out some Grouser rivets, machined off the heads and then air punch. Sorta-kinda worked. @Patrick Tipton @OZM29C
  9. Fantastic write up! how did you remove the 896 rivets? Drill? Heat? Bridgeport machining? grind off the heads?
  10. Thank you for this information, this is priceless!
  11. Thank You Patrick, just ordered it!
  12. What re-build kit do I look for with this 1 barrel? Thanks
  13. The rod that connects the shift lever to the long rod to the rear end has completely broken off, any replacements out there, or is it a simple home made fix? Thanks Reamer
