  1. Well, I tested two of my five wipers motors and they work! I just have to install new plugs and wires. After that, some blasting, paint and finding close to correct wipers and arms. Originals are impossible to find.

  2. What durometer? 90? My buddy tried a plastic product that was too hard and he would slide. I’ll try 90 durometer and will adhere to the track. A company is sending me a sample cold vulcanizer to try.

Ok. They have my parts but gave me 2 lengths to choose from. I couldn't decide which lengths. I will have to email them again.

Tell Mercedes you want the lengths per their new blueprints. The two lengths they told me were incorrect. The Studebaker archives charge $35 to look for prints then charge $3-$5 per page plus shipping. Contrary to most stuff on the internet, weasel prints aren’t free and can get costly pretty darn fast. PM me.

I am waiting for my wires to be reproduced, but I have to provide lengths. Do you have the correct lengths handy?

    Thanks

    Dave

are you having Vintage Wiring make them? If so, they have the blurprints.

Would you post some detailed pictures of them if you get a chance? Would love to see them up close and personal.

I’ll get you pictures soon or if you would be heading to Hagerstown...

  6. Keep on top of the delivery from Poland and post pictures when it arrives. I had a buddy of mine (a professional welder - the guy can weld tin foil) reproduce a bomb box for me and it was pretty darn good. The welds on the sheet steel were very pretty like a stack of dimes.

  7. I’m cutting spark plug wires as close to original material as possible (even have supressors) but the TM/FM only have diameter (7mm), not length. These below were passed to me but unfortunately not by cylinder number. Could anyone here be able to verify lengths or should I get a 1942 Studebaker Champion set from an auto parts store to measure?
    -19”
    -21”
    -24”
    -19 1/2”
    -23 1/2”
    -24”
    -17” coil

My current set is aftermarket and seems long.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  8. To follow up on this topic, Mercedes at Vintage Wire says she is out of spark plug resistor ends. If I get them to her, she will assemble. Are these correct from Peter Debella? They are sold individually.

What about the rain caps? Rubber or Bakelite?

    or am I way off?

  9. I’m the guy! Thank you very much. I’ll have to replace some of my plugs with the Cole-Hersee 1465 post-war single post plugs unless I can clean up some of my crusty original spares.

  10. Is there a newer equivalent for Rustoleum light machine gray rattle can? I can only find a gallon and it’s 45 minutes away? All retailers are out of stock. I found one on-line retailer but they charge a haz-mat fee on top of shipping. May have to buy a few newer gray cans to see what’s close.

  11. After a long wait, the weasel is finally back in the garage. I’m working on the right side using a hat channel kit. The only hitch so far us that I’m missing two, the one front of the fuel tank with the 4 bolts and the one that the tank straps to. My fuel tank strap one has the notch that can be salvaged for whatever it was there for. Does anyone here make those two channels? My front hat has little left to measure. I don’t have access to a break.
