  1. "will not/can not" should be interesting to see on that one.

Personally, I'm not sure which I would want one big track or a track I can take apart. Something to think about.

  2. Ok, park then paint. I've done that on many projects. That way if paint gets scratched then protective park is under it.

After all, how could a track grouser get scratched....

  3. Can't wait to see more. Go Patrick Go!!!!

I'm at that stage. Somewhat, have all of the grousers stripped and ready to clean. Guess I need to start in with the wire wheel next. Was thinking about parking after that, but your painting with that flex seal is an interesting idea. Like I said GO PATRICK!!!!

  4. That said try to find out as MUCH history as possible on the Weasel you are thinking about buying....

You might not know if that "Weasel" did it or not. Sorry could not help it.

Being a member here and reviewing as much as you can is your best thing. Might even be a lot better than vehicle history report....

  5. Not long ago I started grinding apart another set of tracks (Thanks again Patrick for that back up set). So, Thursday started pulling the cut bolt heads from the bands. In this tracks cases the best part is belting that can be used on another set.

Like I said to you grinding and cutting the nuts off, I believe is the fastest way to get French style track apart. As I recall less time than using a 18mm socket and 19.5 inch long 1/2inch drive rachet.

No matter, how you do it ---- it's a PAIN!!!!

  6. Took two complete tracks apart last Nov/Dec. It's a pain. Harder to remove the rubber so you can recycle the steel chain pieces. Ending up with 300 pounds of steel scrap. Wow at 10 cents a pound (it's up) $30.00. Not worth it but.

    Patrick Good Luck

  7. While they are not perfect.... kaiser Willys is a very good starting point. I've learned a lot from their catalogs. Also, they try their best to help you out on the phone.

I've found that at Auto parts stores the person on the phone is always more important than the client at the counter. Therefore, I've learned to call first and ask all questions and try to get answers before I go in and wait at the counter.

    Good Luck
