So I'm a long way off, but what have people done to replace the firewall padding?
Specifically, the one by drivers foot that the ventilator lid handle stop is riveted to? The rivites would need to come off, insulation on, and then re rivet the catch bracket and keep it spaced away from panel.
Are reproduction panels available, or what are people making them from.
Thanks

So my weasel is an m29c serial number 5096.
What is correct for spark plug organizer loom, the grey flat one pictured by m29 above, or the circle one?
Thanks

@RAS1Dave, I can't see why you could not make the spark plug wires yourself. The spark plug caps and grommets would be available from most G503 Vendors and the cored HT wire would be available from a good Auto Electrician. You might have a bit of trouble finding this little weasel gem below. Its the spark plug cable retainer.
What! A spark plug cable retainer! Omg I must have it. Why are there so many hard to find cool parts! 😀 Can you give me more direction on a vendor who has the correct ends?
Thanks!

I talked with vintage wiring of maine, they can't make spark plug wires anymore because they are missing the weasel end. Does anyone have some good used ones or new ones I could buy and send them to have them made?
Let me know!

Can I second John’s opinion though Experience
Where do you buy the aluminum gear? Part number?

Thanks, next question. I have a thick carb gasket (looks like 2 stapled together) what is the proper gasket placement? Thin under baffle and thick on top? Or baffle directly on carb elbow, with gasket only on top?
Thanks!

While we are on the topic of distributors, where do I find close to original looking spark plug wires? Mine look like new rubber and are like spaghetti all over the place.
Thanks

@M29DeBella jeep parts got NOS coils for the weasel: http://www.debellajeepparts.com/WEASEL.htm
Thank you very much! That will help out greatly. I left a message to get a coil, hopefully now, no more burnt up points!
Thank you!

Great comments! I will check the voltage on the coil.
I think they previous owner left the switch on, as they were fried when I got it.
Obviously my M29C has a coil on the front of the distributor, and the generator is on top. I would assume it was 12 volt, rather than the 6 volt conversion with resistor as pictured above for the t-15.
So many changes for such a short run vehicle!
Thanks,
Dave

Interesting! I thought the hull drain plugs would be on the bottom like our old GPA!
Thanks again!

Hi!
I have just test run my weasel first time since I got it. Coil wire positive lead was loose.
The previous owner included a ceramic resistor, but was obvious aftermarket and was broken.
I hooked the positive lead to the run position on my switch. I did not use a resistor.
Had lots of trouble with spark, boils down to melted plastic wiper on points, end of points were blue from being heated.
I am changing the points and condenser, but I'm wondering if the originally used a resistor in line with the coil? Or direct to switch?
I dont need to melt another set of points. But it may be the previous owner left the switch on?
Thanks!

Ok. Sounds good!

I just welded my straps back in today. They are originally spot welded underneath that panel on the hat channel. The one closest to the passenger side of the hull seems misplaced (too far too left), but there was still a nice section spot welded in place so I am pretty sure it is correct. There is a little weld to the right where someone had another strap at some point. John's solution is practical...these straps are in the way and a pain if you remove the tank with the engine in place. I am hoping to never do that but we shall see!
Thanks Patrick! Look at those awesome original wire clamps above the fuel tank straps! All those dimples add to the original factor!!! 🙂 (saw your video)
Thanks!

Mechanical, however my tank is electric. I am planning on using a cover plate. But that is as long as I can find the sender with pickup tube.
-
One more thing how about a final picture with gas line routing from tank to filter and then carb?
-
Now that I know what I'm looking for, I found the cut off strap remains!
-
I would never have guessed they used a wood block! How 1930s of them! Cool. I was thinking in the front where the tank would smash/rub against the front it would have had something.
Thanks!

Looks great. Was there any rubber strips along the edge of the tank, where it slides in or where it hits the hull in the front? Is there rubber strips between the straps and the tank?
Thanks!

I'm looking for the pioneer compass assy.
I was told someone reproduced the brass mount bracket 10 years ago.
Are any reproduction or originals out there?
Leads appreciated.
Thanks!
