I don't think engine compression will yield much at this point. Especially if the engine has sat for a while. If it were me, I would try to get the engine running and oil circulating before I test compression. I'm assuming that you're cranking with the plugs in? How does it perform with the plugs out?

I think it is threaded. Yeah, don't pull on the belt grooves...

@OZM29C I have considered that and have not ruled it out since I'm at the stage of adding this will be really easy. I'm also of @Patrick Tipton's mindset that it will be just as easy to pump any fluids out.

That looks about right. I'm getting ready to have the "J" channel bent up here soon. I was lucky to get some of the last 2" channel that (I think Rob) had bent up for his kits. There is a drawing of hat channel dims in the files section, but it is in MMs

@Patrick Tiptonand @OZM29C I had considered utilizing the area in which the step was so that my weld work would be hidden, but the previous repair went higher than that area, so I had to trim a little higher. Check the following photos. I think I should be able to get it pretty strait, and was going to utilize Patrick's method of mig tacking, and tig filling. We'll see how it goes!

Got my local shop to bend up the corner brace and the exterior panel (side/floor/side). I'm going to do one side at a time. Still need to remove quite a bit and prep, but I'm happy with my progress, and it will be looking pretty solid once I get fresh metal on the exterior. Will most likely add some bracing in the center since I'll be removing so much more material. I'm going to draw them up in CAD for my peace of mind. I'm hoping to pick up the new metal tomorrow, but it might have to wait until Tuesday. Before I started cutting, I managed to get most of the measurements on the port side of the hat channels and holes.

Thanks OZ, Luckily I do have a buddy locally that has a weasel. I'll go that route if I have to. Don't know how many panels I might have to remove though....:-). I'm happy to order from Studebaker, but would at least need drawing numbers....
Happy New Year!!!

I've scanned the manuals, and maybe I've missed it, but is there a set of drawings for the hat channel locations on the floor? If not in the manuals, does anyone have a part number so I could order from Studebaker?
I have most of the hat channel locations relatively intact on my hull, but some of the "J" channel is completely missing and I'm sure there are some hole locations missing as well.
Thanks in advance!
Mark

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Some holiday progress on the tub. If I were to do it again, I would skip the patches, and replace whole sections. Anyway, the bottom 8" is patched and I'm moving on to stripping the remainder of the rust. Looking forward to making some leaps and bounds. Need to find a shop in STL that can bend some hat channel for me.

Thanks for the information Gents! M29C3284 and Patrick Tipton, I check your threads for examples, but just wanted to confirm angle. I'll check with Robert to see if he has any more hinges left.
