Byron Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 (edited) HI Guys, Manifold question if any one knows the answer. i took the manifold pipes off to clean and the fuel jets have specifically made bungs to block them. I guess this is not correct? I can’t see these in the parts manual. Do I leave them in or take them out? I wanted to get the priming system working. Cheers, Byron Edited November 11, 2020 by Byron Uploaded too soon Quote
M29 Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Hi Byron The T15 engine I am working on has the fuel jets so they must be from Studebaker. Dan Quote
Byron Posted November 12, 2020 Author Posted November 12, 2020 Hi Dan, thanks for your reply. Can you see these fuel jets have threaded plugs in to block them. They look well made. do you think these should be taken out? cheers, Byron Quote
Jesse Browning Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 I think the threaded plugs you are referring to are the actual jets. There is a tiny hole in them. They are probably plugged. They can be cleaned by heating them and dipping them in water. The steam generated will blow out the debris. Quote
Byron Posted November 14, 2020 Author Posted November 14, 2020 Thank you Again Jesse. I will try that! Yes it was the screw in plug I was trying to describe. I couldn’t find it in the parts manual. Quote
M29 Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Since I had never worked on the jets before I was not sure how the insert came out. I soaked them and was able to pull them straight out. I saw a small hole in the outer jet body but did not notice the insert had a hole. I did notice the insert has a spiral on it and I thought that fuel entered the body of the jet that way and then went out the small hole in the jet body? I used a welding torch tip cleaner to make sure the hole was not plugged Dan Quote
