M29
I am looking to acquire a couple hold downs for the splash shield on my floater weasel. Anyone know where I might come up with these. Thanks Dan
Patrick Tipton
@Rob W may have them? If not, maybe @Jesse Browning?
Jesse Browning
The hold downs for the splash shield are different than the seat hold downs. I think they are just longer, but have never had an original to examine.
M29
Yes they are longer than the seat hold downs. I have never seen any for sale so might be one of those special run items.
OZM29C
The retainers are indeed different. First photo shows the surfshield hold down. Note the 90 degree bend and the second link photo shows a seat hold down, straight shaft; https://www.ebay.com/itm/SEAT-BACK-HOLD-DOWN-M29-M29C-WEASEL-NOS-REPLACEMENT/233002853403?hash=item36400d641b:g:h58AAOSw8Etdi3RT
M29
I have a set on my weasel but the springs are shot. I wonder if there is a way of opening the barrel where the spring is and putting in a new spring??
Jesse Browning
Grind off the small rivet head and punch it out. Remove the cotter pin at the end of the shaft. When done, you can replace the rivet, or use a small screw and nut.
M29
I'll give that a try thanks Jesse
