F-D Zernia Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 I also found spindles with and without plugs in the end. I solved that with a freeze plug from the automotive supply house. I could not locate an exact fit. One was close enough that a little work with a coarse file and it tapped in tight. The tube with no plug was filled with excess grease and this should solve that issue. Fred 1 Quote
F.Janssen Posted November 4, 2021 Author Posted November 4, 2021 Continuation Can somebody tell me if there are 2 bushings in the axle for the high/low shifting? There are none in my assembly but it seems very loose. 1 Quote

Only one bushing on the high/low shift lever....it is a little loose, but the bracket that mounts to the inside hat channel provides a lot of support once installed. Quote

I mistakenly fitted two bushings (both sides) and had a devil of a job to line up the shift shafts into the contour flange bracket. 1 1 Quote
F.Janssen Posted December 1, 2021 Author Posted December 1, 2021 (edited) Beside work on the Weasel, my Willys MB had some heart surgery... Weasel works were to weld the bracket on the oil pan and make a new piece of wood which is fixed on the engine cover near the gas pedal. And found some nice gem....which needs to wait for the next years before even thinking of mounting. Edited December 1, 2021 by F.Janssen 1 Quote
F.Janssen Posted December 23, 2021 Author Posted December 23, 2021 Found myself 2 gearboxes, of wich 1 original Weasel and 1 earlier gearbox. Looking for all the internals, so if somebody has parts, please let me know. 1x March 1941 1x May 1945 Quote
