  1. Thanks Dan @M29 and Patrick @Patrick Tipton. Driving the weasel is a bit limited at the moment as I don't have any seats for it. Just the seat backs. Plus I still have some more painting to finish. The seat canvas is on the water from the UK and should be here by the end of this month. I am also working on my 5 tonne truck to carry the weasel around to shows and events. Again I will have it back on the road soon. My weasel looks a bit different from when I first got it.
  2. @Patrick TiptonThanks Patrick. I could always ask Brock permission but at this point of time the MVPA would be the first point of contact. It is a great article BTW.
  3. This weekends weasel fun was to apply the final coat of OD to the drivers side and then apply the stencils. For the purists, before jumping up and down saying the stencils are positioned incorrectly, this weasel is a representation of a weasel that rolled off the Letterkenny Ord Depot production line in the 50's. Paint was Semi gloss OD, stencils were white and as far as I can tell from looking at photos of Letterkenny weasels, stencils were applied/positioned at random. Now onto the passenger side.
  4. @RAS1 There is an excellent article in the April/May 2019 MVPA History in Motion Magazine that was written by Brock Jollife (M29C Floater owner). This article discusses the Demolition system in a T24. I am not sure on the copyright/ownership of this article so I won't scan it and post it here. Perhaps @Patrick Tipton would know the legalities of posting information from an MVPA magazine?
  5. @RAS1 They are called Ambillary tracks. I can't be sure of the spelling. Post war production and used extensively in Antarctica. Photo below showing an EPF Weasel fitted with them. No for the road pads. They also attached Ice grousers to them. The LAR tracks were based on this design. Is that your new floater project? Do share😀
  6. @Price USMCI have a set of seat and seat back covers coming in from Canvasco (John and Mary Worthing) in the UK. I have it on good authority that they are good quality reproductions. I am hoping to see them at the end of July so I will report back then. Cheers
  7. I had to fabricate and fit a shift lever air deflector seal to my M29C. Unfortunately I did not have an OEM drawing to work from but I was given a drawing for the early T24 canvas shift lever. From there I drew and fabricated a metal (and felt) shift lever seal. A quick disclaimer. This shaft seal fitted my M29C but I can't guarantee it would fit other M29C's. Anyway drawings and happy snaps below. Shaft Seal for gear slectors.pdf
  8. @M29 Dan, " I think he is a friend of John Wilson OZM29C", that me 😀 As I said over on G503 Gordon McMillan was the last fellow I knew who cast a batch of Compass brackets and that was 15 plus years ago. I don't know of anyone else who has again reproduced a compass bracket. I do remember that I had to do a lot of machining to allow the compass to fit inside the housing. I suspect that there was some shrinkage of the metal during the casting process. The first photo below shows the top surface being trued prior to drilling the mounting holes. Second photo shows the amount of metal I had to take off the inner surfaces in order to allow the compass to fit.
  9. Posted on another forum and might be of interest here; https://cardinalscholar.bsu.edu/bitstream/handle/123456789/202097/2019WilsonBenjamin-combined.pdf?sequence=1&isAllowed=y 2019WilsonBenjamin-combined.pdf
  10. @Patrick Tipton BZ Patrick 👍👍👍 What a difference a coat of paint makes. I'll bet that you can't wait to start bolting the trinkets and jewellery onto the hull. This stage makes the restoration more satisfying.
  11. @Patrick Tipton Thanks Patrick, I am working towards having the weasel ready for November where I will be taking it to an event with a large gathering of Military Amphibians. There will be an official launching ceremony for the weasel at Clarence Town. Distinguished guests will include, my offsiders dog, a GPA owners 'Wilson' the soccer ball and a young boy whose Grandfather is bringing him along to the event especially to see a weasel😀.
  12. Another tick in the box. I have put historic registration on my weasel. Now I can drive it legally on the road. The next step is to apply for an exemption from marine registration.
  13. @RAS1Dave, I believe that you are restoring an M29C?????? If that is indeed so, the compass was not furnished for the M29C.

  15. @RAS1Dave, I can't see why you could not make the spark plug wires yourself. The spark plug caps and grommets would be available from most G503 Vendors and the cored HT wire would be available from a good Auto Electrician. You might have a bit of trouble finding this little weasel gem below. Its the spark plug cable retainer.
  16. @Patrick TiptonCan't wait to see the hull resplendent in a Coat of White👍👍
  17. I can vouch for their wiring harnesses. Apart from a few time consuming typos in their instruction sheet, their quality is worth the cost. I think that the battery cables were extra as well.
  18. @RAS1Dave, here is one Vendor, I am sure that there are many more; https://www.studebakerparts.com/studebakerparts/store/s/agora.cgi?product=engine3
  19. No connection with the vendor, just posting the link here; https://forums.g503.com/viewtopic.php?f=77&p=1887267#p1887267
  20. Yes for the Wiper motors. @Patrick Tiptonwould know about the seat belts. Before putting your wiper motors into service, open up the casing that encloses the worm and worm drive in order to clean and regrese that assembly. Both of my motors had almost siezed solid from aged packed hard grease.
  21. If you are aiming for the OEM look, then yes. Keep in mind that the OEM mechanical wiper arm is 9inches in length as opposed to the Motor driven 10inches arm. Wiper blades are all the same length.
  22. @RAS1Dave, Do you have a Mechanical or electrical fuel pump?
  23. @RAS1Dave, there was originally a wooden insert/block fitted to the side of the tank into the hull. Pictures attached. In my case I did not replace this block. as for what I am doing with my weasel I don't think my fuel tank will ever see damage.
  24. @RAS1Found a couple of photos showing the fuel tank and fuel filter drain pipe.
